She’s been on the cover of hundreds of magazines—and hundreds of tabloids, too—and whether for wearing fur, dating Pete Doherty, or heading a one-woman, multi-million-dollar empire, Kate is never far from the front page. Her hard-partying, drug-fueled lifestyle made Kate the bad girl of the modeling industry (H&M even dropped her from a campaign, and Chanel chose not to renew her).

In 1993, Kate appeared in tank tops and underwear in an ad for Calvin Klein. She brushed it all off, until releasing a statement in 2005 apologizing for her behavior.

The gallery's director, Jean-David Malat was impressed by Askelovic's controversial Diamond Dog inspired sculpture of David Bowie - as half-man, half-dog - and asked the artist to create a piece on the model.

Malat asked the Birmingham based artist to depict Kate Moss as a combination of Venus, icon and mannequin - a goddess of the fashion industry.

Discovered by the late photographer Corinne Day, Kate made her modeling debut in an issue of British mag The Face – and it was there, in a series of fun, frank black-and-whites that we’d meet the future face of Calvin Klein, to say nothing of a hundred other brands.

“I wanted to be at the center of things,” reflects Kate.

Supermodel, fashion icon and all-around It Girl Kate Moss joins us in celebrating our 60th anniversary with her first-ever nude spread for Playboy – an unprecedented eighteen pages, shot by noted photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Hefner, Miss Moss dons a classic Playboy bunny suit, ears, tail and all – and though we think it should go without saying, here’s to another 60 years of masterly Playboy history.
